Last updated: 24 Oct 2026
In short
- No account, no sign-up, no newsletter.

- Your searches and your answers in the tools are not saved in a database.
- No data is sold or shared for commercial purposes.
Data controller
Pierre Galle, private individual, Rue des Champs Bailly 11, 4845 Jalhay, Belgium. Contact: contact@smartextralab.com.
Server technical logs
Like any website, the server records on each visit: the IP address, date and time, the address of the requested page and the browser type.
- Purpose: to run the site, protect it against abuse and fix errors.
- Legal basis: legitimate interest in keeping the site secure (GDPR, article 6(1)(f)).
- Retention: 30 days.
- Access: the publisher and the host, acting on our behalf: OVH Hosting Inc. (OVHcloud), Montréal, Canada; where applicable, contracting party OVH SAS, Roubaix, France.
Searches and tools
The municipality entered on Near me, your answers in My plan and the values in the Simulator travel in the page address. The server uses them to compute the answer and does not keep them. They may appear in the technical logs above, because the page address is part of them.
Do not enter personal information (name, exact address) in these fields: they do not need it.
Page-view counter
The server counts how many times each page is displayed, day by day (for example: “Ideas page: 42 views on 24 October”). It keeps nothing else: no IP address, no cookie, no identifier, no browser type, no referring page. These totals cannot identify a person or follow their path through the site.
- Purpose: to know which pages are useful, to improve the site.
- This is not personal data: only totals per page and per day are recorded.
- Retention: 400 days, then the totals are deleted.
- Known robots (search engines, automated tools) are not counted.
- Nothing is stored in your browser and nothing is sent to another service.
Remembered preferences
Three small cookies may remember the chosen language, municipality and distance. They stay in your browser. A fourth cookie is used only by the site's publisher, when logging in to the administration area: it is never set for visitors. Details on the Cookies page.
Job offers and flea markets
Our server downloads the public offers and events from these sources. Your browser does not contact them and no data about you is sent to them until you click a card. The municipality search only goes through our server. On the original website, its own privacy policy applies.
If you write to us
If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply. Retention: 1 year after the last exchange.
Where the data is
Fonts are served by our own server: no request to Google Fonts or any other service.
The server is located in Canada, in the OVHcloud Beauharnois data centre (Quebec). The European Commission has recognised that Canada offers an adequate level of protection for organisations subject to the federal PIPEDA law (decision 2002/2/EC, confirmed in the January 2024 review). The transfer of technical logs to our host relies on this adequacy decision (GDPR, article 45).
Your rights
You can ask to access your data, correct it, erase it, restrict its processing, object to it, or ask for portability (GDPR, articles 15 to 21). Write to: contact@smartextralab.com. We reply within one month.
As the publisher is established in Belgium, the competent supervisory authority is the Belgian Data Protection Authority (APD/GBA), rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels (dataprotectionauthority.be). You can also contact the authority of the country where you live, for example the CNIL in France (GDPR, article 77).
Changes
If the site changes (for example adding another audience-measurement tool), this page will be updated before the change, with its date.
