Flexi-job in Belgium

Since 1 July 2026, flexi-jobs are open to almost every sector: a small job on top of your main job, tax-free up to a ceiling.

How to get started

  1. Check that you qualify (sufficient main job or pension).
  2. Find employers hiring flexi workers: hospitality, retail, events, care...
  3. Ask for a written framework contract and confirmation of the Dimona declaration.
  4. Track your flexi income for the year to stay under the tax ceiling.

Sources: Le Forem (CC BY-SA 4.0). Belgium: job offers in Wallonia (Le Forem). France: flea markets, car boot sales, second-hand fairs and markets everywhere (DATAtourisme); job offers only in Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Hautes-Pyrénées (France Travail), in Île-de-France (offers from the Region), in Tours (City and Metropole), plus Groupe BPCE offers across France. Brussels, Flanders and the rest of France will come later.

Good tips

  • Pensioners have no tax ceiling on flexi income.
  • Outside hospitality, the minimum wage is your sector's pay scale; the cap of €21 an hour (€22.61 with holiday pay) applies everywhere.

Watch out for

  • A few sectors remain excluded: domestic staff, agriculture, horticulture (except parks and gardens), sea fishing and part of the funeral sector. In 2026 a sector can also opt out each quarter, then each year from 2027.
  • You cannot do a flexi-job for your own employer.
